SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT SERIES

Identifying a Supply Chain Strategy

Targeted Skill Level: Intermediate
Duration: 1.5 - 2 hours

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Building an efficient retail supply chain or improving the efficiency of an existing one requires an understanding of the demand for the end product. Some products are functional; others are innovative. Both require different types of supply chains.

This course demonstrates strategies for identifying and solving supply chain mismatches by improving the quality and quantity of information shared among suppliers, distributors, and retailers.

This course was developed in collaboration with The John Olin School of Business at Washington University and Professor of Operations and Manufacturing Management, Panos Kouevelis, an authority and extensively published author on supply chain management.

GOALS
After completing this course you will be able to:
  • Distinguish between innovative and functional supply chains and products.
  • Recognize mismatches between supply chains and the products they serve.
  • Identify supply chain strategies and solutions for functional and innovative products
CASE STUDY
In the case study, Anheuser-Busch executives return from Supply Chain Challenges. You hear how they identified and executed solutions to the supply chain problems that dogged the brewing company as the marketplace changed and the company diversified its product line.
