REGULATORY & COMPLIANCE SERIES

Sexual Harassment Awareness™

Targeted Skill Level: Basic
Duration: .75 - 1 hours

COURSE DESCRIPTION
What is sexual harassment? How can employees prevent it? What should employees do if it happens? Sexual Harassment Awareness™ answers these questions for office workers. Through numerous thought-provoking vignettes describing physical, verbal, and non-verbal sexual behavior, employees are prompted to decide for themselves whether particular behaviors are appropriate or not. Employees will get to compare their view with those of their colleagues, and they'll get to hear both sides of the story from the characters involved.

This course was developed in partnership with Sidley Austin Brown & Wood, a leading legal firm with extensive employment law expertise.

GOALS
After completing the course, you will be able to:
  • Understand what sexual harassment is.
  • Understand how to prevent sexual harassment.
  • Understand what to do if harassed.
CASE STUDY
In a fictional company, several characters appear in a series of eleven realistic vignettes. After each of the vignettes, you are asked to decide if a particular behavior described in the scenario would make you feel uncomfortable, and you receive feedback on your response. In four of the vignettes, you see how your colleagues collectively responded through a real-time survey. This enables you to anonymously compare your response to others.
